Boost Your Boutique Sales: Affordable Clothes Under $10 That Customers Love

Something that all boutique owners deal with on a regular basis, is finding ways to continually operate a successful store. Whether that entails staying on top of fashion trends when updating your inventory. Or deciding on a lucrative yet competitive price point. Or even coming up with different sales and promotions. And a big one, developing a successful marketing campaign. All of these are not only extremely important for boutique owners, they are also a necessity.

However, there is also a sales tactic that is tried and true, and definitely worth giving it a go to increase sales.

People can never resist a sale. That’s pretty much a consumer fact, and the reason why stores often have different sales. Whether it’s simply a percentage off, or a buy one get one free deal, sales are a fact of boutique life. An incredibly helpful sales tactic is the bargain bin. The concept of a bargain bin is having everyday items, typically with a lower price tag, right at the checkout. That way while customers are waiting in lines they are inundated with sale items, making it hard to resist the impulse buy. Taking this idea and running with it, having an under $10 section in your boutique is a sure fire way to boost your sales.

Not only $10, but more specifically, affordable clothes under $10 that customers love. It’s human nature, if a customer is presented with a good deal, they not only will accept, but chances are they will get more than they intended to. If you went to buy a pair of $5 socks, but saw they were only $1, you may end up buying a bunch. Perhaps even in different colors, thus spending more than $5 anyways. So, what are some affordable clothing items that are favorably under $10 that you can stock your boutique with?

Most wholesalers will work with you when it comes to buying in bulk. Especially if you’re a previous customer. Since the idea of getting customers to utilize the under $10 sale, you want to have items that come in many different variations. That way the price point can easily justify them buying multiple of one item. For example, having a low price camisole with five or more color options, may ensure that a customer will buy most, if not all, of the color options. This entices customers to splurge more, rather than if you just offered many different items in one or two color variations under $10.

It doesn't have to just apply to color options. As long as you don’t stray too much from the item itself, you can include other bulk clothing items that will push a customer into purchasing more than one. For instance, a cardigan. If there is a certain color, or patterned cardigan listed for under $10, you can lead to multiple purchases by changing things up slightly. Not enough to make someone not feel they need multiple, but just a slight change that they have a hard time deciding between the different options. This can be done by having one cardigan with buttons, one with a zipper, and one just a simple drawstring. It’s different enough, but still very similar that a customer may just opt for multiple purchases.
When deciding to include affordable clothes under $10 that customers love to your boutique, it’s also a good idea to match the times. Heading into summer, tanks and sundresses are a perfect, simple, and much loved clothing item. For cooler months, scarfs and fuzzy socks are perfect bargain bin options. With an under $10 area, you are bound to see a quick increase in your boutique sales.
